Shipping Policy

1. General Shipping Information
  • We currently ship all ready-to-buy and make-on-order items within India only.
  • Bespoke orders are shipped worldwide with applicable international shipping charges.
  • Orders are shipped from our studio after production is complete, as per our Make-on-Order principle.

 

2. Production Timelines
  • All products are custom-made or produced after an order is placed.
  • Estimated production times:
  • Ready-to-Buy Custom Items: 2–3 weeks.
  • Bespoke Orders: 4–8 weeks (depending on complexity).

Note: Production timelines do not include shipping times.

 

3. Shipping Timelines
Within India:
  • Standard Delivery: 3–7 business days after dispatch.

International (Bespoke Orders Only):

  • Delivery timelines vary based on the destination, typically 7–14 business days after dispatch.

Delays may occur due to customs clearance or unforeseen circumstances.

 

4. Shipping Charges
Within India:
  • Free shipping for orders above ₹5,000.
  • ₹200 flat fee for orders below ₹5,000.

International (Bespoke Orders Only):

  • Shipping charges will be calculated at checkout based on destination and weight.

Custom duties and import taxes (if applicable) are the responsibility of the customer.

 

5. Tracking Information

  • Once your order is dispatched, you will receive a tracking number via email or WhatsApp.

 

Returns and Refunds Policy

1. Return Eligibility

  • Custom/Make-on-Order Items: Non-returnable as each piece is made specifically for you.
  • Bespoke Orders: Non-returnable unless there is a manufacturing defect.

We are committed to ensuring quality craftsmanship. If there are any issues, please contact us, and we will resolve them promptly.

 

2. Refund Policy

  • Refunds are only offered for:
  • Items with manufacturing defects.
  • Orders cancelled within 24 hours of placement.
  • Shipping fees are non-refundable.
  • Refunds will be processed within 7–10 business days to the original payment method.

 

3. Cancellation Policy

  • Orders can be cancelled within 24 hours of placement. After this, production begins, and cancellations are no longer accepted.

 

4. Exchange Policy

  • Exchanges are available for size-related issues on ready-to-buy items shipped within India.
  • Bespoke orders are not eligible for exchanges.
  • To request an exchange, contact us within 7 days of delivery. Additional production time may apply.

FAQs

1. Can I make changes to my order after placing it?

  • Changes are only possible within 24 hours of order placement. After that, the production process begins.

2. What if my item arrives damaged?

  • Please notify us within 48 hours of delivery with photos of the damaged item. We’ll arrange a replacement or refund.

3. Are international shipping fees refundable?

  • No, international shipping fees and any customs duties are non-refundable.

SHIPPING WITHIN INDIA

Enjoy free shipping within India when you pay online via debit card, credit card, Paypal, net banking or bank transfer. Flat Shipping of Rs.150 on COD orders.

INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING

Once you feed in your complete shipping address at check out, you will be able to see an auto-generated shipping fee. Please see approximate shipping charges for two garments below:

USA - US $20
UK - 15 pounds
Europe and rest of the world - 20 pounds
Australia - AUD $30
Singapore - SGD $25

ORDER COMMUNICATION

You will receive order related emails in two stages.
1. An order confirmation email once you place the order.
2. A shipment email once the order is dispatched from our studio to your address. You will be able to track your order on the website of the relevant courier company through the tracking code in the second email.

Please ensure someone is there at the given address to receive your order. Delivery will be attempted two times before the shipment is returned to our studio. There will be additional fees for further delivery attempts. Please note that we will be unable to schedule shipping for orders with incomplete address or wrong telephone number.

If you desire express shipping, please write to friends@thesummerhouse.in with subject: EXPRESS SHIPPING, to inquire about the additional charges to your city.

ORDER CANCELLATION
If you wish to cancel your order, write to us within 24 hours of placing the order at friends@thesummerhouse.in
REFUND
We do not offer refunds on orders due to the time and labor that goes into each product. Refunds are only processed based on fulfillment errors, such as incorrectly shipped or missing items. The amount will be refunded via the original mode of payment within one week of initiation.  
RETURNS

Every single piece designed & produced in The Summer House goes through stringent quality checks. Unevenness in colour & texture of print is not a fault but a beautiful characteristic of natural processes.

Any purchase can be exchanged for a different size. In case the size is not available, we shall provide you a store credit valid for six months from the date of issue. You can see our size chart here before making a purchase. All orders go through a stringent quality check before shipping. However, in the off chance that you have received a damaged product, please notify us at friends@thesummerhouse.in within 3 days of receiving the order. 

In case of either damaged product return or size exchange, please write to friends@thesummerhouse.in with subject: RETURNS. Clothing sent to us without a prior email will not be accepted. The Summer House must be notified within three days of receipt of clothes about your intent to exchange. Once the email is received, we accept returns within 15 days. The cost of any exchange is to be borne by the customer.

No exchange and refund on discounted items.

In order to initiate an exchange or return, please find the 'Initiate a return here' option at the bottom of the page. Keep your order number and Email ID at hand for a hassle free process.  

The Summer House team holds the right to not accept returns in case the product is used or damaged by the customer. 

 

RETURNS

We have a 30-day return policy, which means you have 30 days after receiving your item to request a return.

To be eligible for a return, your item must be in the same condition that you received it, unworn or unused, with tags, and in its original packaging. You’ll also need the receipt or proof of purchase.

If your return is accepted, we’ll send you a return shipping label, as well as instructions on how and where to send your package. Items sent back to us without first requesting a return will not be accepted.

Damages and issues
Please inspect your order upon reception and contact us immediately if the item is defective, damaged or if you receive the wrong item, so that we can evaluate the issue and make it right.

 

Exceptions / non-returnable items
Certain types of items cannot be returned, like perishable goods (such as food, flowers, or plants), custom products (such as special orders or personalized items), and personal care goods (such as beauty products). We also do not accept returns for hazardous materials, flammable liquids, or gases. Please get in touch if you have questions or concerns about your specific item.

Unfortunately, we cannot accept returns on sale items or gift cards.

 

Exchanges
The fastest way to ensure you get what you want is to return the item you have, and once the return is accepted, make a separate purchase for the new item.

 

European Union 14 day cooling off period
Notwithstanding the above, if the merchandise is being shipped into the European Union, you have the right to cancel or return your order within 14 days, for any reason and without a justification. As above, your item must be in the same condition that you received it, unworn or unused, with tags, and in its original packaging. You’ll also need the receipt or proof of purchase.

 

Refunds
We will notify you once we’ve received and inspected your return, and let you know if the refund was approved or not. If approved, you’ll be automatically refunded on your original payment method within 10 business days. Please remember it can take some time for your bank or credit card company to process and post the refund too.
